It’s no secret that we have a soft spot for Twitter here at Devumi. Since I wrote a top brands on Instagram article earlier, I think it is only appropriate that I also give you a best brands on Twitter 2014 review.
Hopefully you’ll learn a few things that you can apply to your own brand, improve your Twitter marketing, and find more followers!
The best brands on Twitter 2014
@Charmin – Charmin toilet paper
Who would have thought that the taboo subject of toilet paper could be such a hit on Twitter? Charmin are certainly the dark horse of the best brands on Twitter countdown as the other brands are much flashier. How they succeed is through humor and absurdity – expect no half dressed models!
Charmin have made their account popular thanks to fun tweets like this where they join in on trending hashtags:
#WorstDateIn5Words You clogged your dates toilet. (Unless they use Charmin. We're clog free..)
— Charmin (@Charmin) December 19, 2014
They’re fun, on brand, using a unique voice, and know when to join in on trends. A day spent studying their account can help you figure out your own Twitter marketing plan. That truly makes them one of the best brands on Twitter in 2014. Just be ready for lots of potty humor!
@Delta – Delta Airlines
It seems like everyone gets mad at airlines. Something about travel inspires people to whip out their phones at a momentary delay and talk smack about them all over Twitter. They combat this by posting a wide range of funny, heart-warming, and geeky content:

The variety of content they produce appeals to a massive audience, and gets them many retweets. Our retweet service is a key aspect of what we provide as content that is seen being retweeted tends to get retweeted even more!
@adidasoriginals – adidas Originals sneakers
I know, I know. I love sneakers and here I am talking about them again after calling @jumpman23 one of the best brands Instagram. The difference is that adidas have a completely different approach to how they stay relevant – they engage with their fans like crazy.
Nearly every single mention made of adidas on Twitter is replied to in some way. It can be as simple as a price check:

Or more in depth, like stock issues in specific stores that involve lengthy conversations:
— adidas Originals (@adidasoriginals) December 24, 2014
The lesson to learn for adidas Originals is that if you want your fans to care about you, first you have to care about them. A few replies can go a long way to making you one of the best brands on Twitter!
@Buffer – Buffer app
An entirely online company had better have people online ready to help customers. Buffer app have taken this to heart with their customer support team replying to comments quickly. Just look at this screenshot of their activity page and notice that every tweet is a reply to someone:
And that image was taken from their Twitter page on CHRISTMAS DAY! Just imagine what they do for people on a regular business day!
For an example of their dedication, check out this post where the support team member worked hard to make sure the customer was satisfied:
@nclaburn Oh gosh, so sorry about that Nathan. Mind letting me know what version of the app you're running? -Mary
— Buffer (@buffer) December 25, 2014
Read the whole conversation by clicking on the date. You’ll see a customer go from ‘I have a problem,’ to ‘Hey, customer support, stop helping me and take break!’ You know you’re doing something right when that happens! They do this all day, every day, 365 days out of the year!
